Ichthyology (from Greek: , ikhthus, fish; and λόγος, logos, study), also known as Fish Science, is the branch of biology devoted to the study of fishes. This includes bony fishes (Osteichthyes), cartilaginous fishes (Chondrichthyes), and jawless fishes (Agnatha).
